Good Morning My Friends,
One of my favorite weekends of the year is our annual Father/Daughter Trip. This was year three.
There are only two rules to the trip:
The trip needs to take us to a city where I can check off a new MLB stadium.
The trip needs to include a big activity for E to check off.
This year took us to Houston, Texas, and was the first trip that fell over Father's Day weekend.
I thought it would be fun to give you a thumbs-up👍 or thumbs-down👎 review through the eyes of an eight-year-old.
Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down
From E:
Food
Hampton Inn Breakfast 👍- she thinks the waffles are to die for.
Osso & Kristalla 👍- Woodfire pizza, truffle fries, and dessert were great.
Biggios 👍- The chicken tenders were CRISPY, the best dessert all weekend.
Pappasito's Cantina 👍- The Enchiladas were great, dessert was underwhelming.
Minute Maid Park 👎- Underwhelming food, but the best part was the Blue Bell Ice Cream in a souvenir helmet.
Sites
Minute Maid Park 👎- lacked kids entertainment areas like Cincinnati or St. Louis.
Space Center 👍- enjoyed all the interactive exhibits and awesomeness that is NASA.
Miscellaneous
Uber Rides 👍- she napped during every ride.
Hotel Pool 👍- EVERY day required a swim.
Hotel Gym 👍- her first-ever gym workout with dad. (Dad's note; then she complained the next day because her legs were sore).
Souvenir Baseball from a Detroit Tiger 👍- she got there early, flashed a smile at Tariq Skubal, and got a ball!
Do it again with Dad next year? 👍👍👍👍
That last rating is all that matters to me. While inside Minute Maid Park, we talked with a father and son who have been doing the same tradition for twenty years. They still look forward to the trip every year!
Happy 70th Birthday to My Mother!
